Halloween Greetings

Halloween is around the corner, with a night full of spooks and goblins.  Check out this cutie, sneaking through the woods.

I used one of the upcoming Just For Fun images and heat embossed it in white on dark blue cardstock.  The image was stamped again in black, colored with colored pencils, and fussy cut.  This was layered on top of the 1^st image, leaving a spooky white outline around the image.  The Cluster of Stalks from Just For Fun was stamped in black on top of it.

The Halloween Greetings sentiment (JFF's Sentiments 1 Unmounted Sheet) was heat embossed at the top and black ink sponged around the outer edges.  This card front was layered on orange, black, and white.

Batty Halloween

The October Challenge at the Just For Fun Blog is Halloween.  I created these two Halloween Cards using the same three Just For Fun images with just a slight difference.  The little bats are part of the upcoming Just For Fun release.

Both cards used the same decorative/colored layers.  The colorful center was created by sponging Distress Inks on white cardstock.  The Doodle Circle was stamped over the light center to create the moon.  I couldn’t decide where I wanted the little bats, in front of the moon or behind the moon.  I decided to try it both ways and share the results with you.  Then I stamped the Happy Halloween sentiment from the Sentiments 1 Unmounted Sheet.

Just For Fun October Challenge

Though it still doesn’t feel much like Fall where I live, October is here and hopefully the cooler weather will catch on soon.  It is time for a new challenge at the Just For Fun Blog and October brings thoughts of ghosts and goblins so the new challenge is “Halloween.

Just For Fun Rubberstamps has some adorable new Halloween stamps in their upcoming release.  I used three of these for this challenge theme. 

The three square images were colored with Copic Markers, fussy cut, and layered on orange and crème polka dot. 

The images were then centered on additional coordinating Halloween designer cardstock.  Small black spiders were die cut and added.

Moonlight Witch Silhouette Shaker

Watch out!  Guess what is sneaking up on us?  That hauntingly fun holiday, Halloween.  Just For Fun has some new stamps just for this, and today’s card uses the Moonlit Witch Silhouette.

The image was stamped with black Memento Ink two times, once on green for the card front and once on orange for the background.  The circular window was cut out of the card front and layered on black and a piece of acetate.  This was popped up and lined up with the orange background.  Halloween Greetings from the Sentiments 1 Unmounted Sheet was stamped at the bottom.

A variety of orange and lime green sequins, along with a few stars were added to the shaker window.

Witches' Laundry

I hope you had time to get creative yesterday on World Card Making Day.  I was able to get together with a group of friends to eat and play.  I am sharing one of the cards I completed.

Love this Witches Laundry image.  It is one of Just For Fun’s new stamps.  I stamped it in black on decorative paper and added layers of black and green, along with some fun, purple designer cardstock.

A little die cut spider web was adhered to one corner to add to the Halloween look.

Just For Fun October Challenge

Time is a flying and now it is time for bats and witches.  October has arrived and Just For Fun Rubber Stamps has a new challenge for this month on their blog and it is all about “Halloween”.

My card uses JFF’s new Witches Magic.  After stamping with Memento Ink, the image was colored with Copic Markers and die cut using Spellbinders’ Nestabilities Art Deco Astoria Labels Etched Dies.

Ink was sponged around all the edges and the image was added to layers of designer paper.  I had this cute little vial of little black star sequins that were added to the card.

Spiders and Cats, Oh My!!

I

I have enjoyed having my youngest home for a few days, due to Hurricane Matthew.  So glad she could be home safe and hope those of you affected by this major storm have not suffered too much damage or loss.  Praying for everyone as the east coast tries to recover.

Halloween is on its way and these sweet little black kitties can’t wait.  These are some of the new Just For Fun Stamptangle images that can be seen in their online store here.

The “happy halloween” sentiment is from JFF's Sentiments 1 Unmounted Sheet.  It was stamped at the top of this die cut window, which was layered on orange decorative cardstock, edged with dark grey ink.  This was added to layers of black, orange designer cardstock, and green on the white card base.

The Stamptangle Cats were heat embossed in black and and fussy cut.  After coloring them with shades of grey, these cuties were layered onto the card front.  They are totally enthralled with that little black spider.

Wicked Trees

It is hard to believe fall is here and Halloween is just around the corner though it is pretty chilly here.  I am featuring the Wicked Trees stamp, from Just for Fun Rubber Stamps, on two similar cards but with very different looks.

I wanted this first card to have more of a fall look.  I started with the Tattered Screen Background stamp from JFF, inked with three different Distress Inks.  The Wicked Trees were stamped in black on top of this.  The sections were cut apart, layered on orange cardstock, and arranged on green cardstock layered on black.

The pumpkin was created with the Stamptangle Pumpkin (medium), stamped on cream cardstock colored with the same three Distress Inks.  These were fussy cut and paper pieced. The sentiment is created using part of the Colorful Autumn Greetings, stamped on green cardstock and layered on black.

For the second card, I wanted more of a Halloween look.  The Wicked Trees are heat embossed with black embossing powder on craft designer cardstock.  Once again they are cut apart, this time layered on white and arranged on black and coordinating designer cardstock.

The Mummy and Hanging Bat (large) are heat embossed with white embossing powder on black cardstock, fussy cut, and adhered to the card front.  I chose to make the bat white because I wanted it to pop, rather than blend with the background.  The sentiment comes from the designer cardstock.

I think I might need to use these trees again with a winter theme!

Halloween Dress Up

I decided to do a Halloween card that was a bit different.  I had purchased a set that included this stamp from Sparkle N Sprinkle. 

The people in this stamp looked like they could be dressed up for Halloween so I stamped them in black on bright yellow cardstock.  The orange was embossed with a Cuttlebug folder and rubbed over with black ink.  The bat corners are created by punching each corner of the orange with punch that is meant to be punching out two corner pieces, leaving the shape of a bat.  I added wiggle eyes to the two bat shapes.  The little spider in the corner is also from a Cuttlebug folder, cut out with a round nestie, and rubbed over with black in.


I entered this in a contest on the Sparkle N Sprinkle Blog.  They have been celebrating their 13th birthday and have had several contests.  Their 4th contest is a Halloween card using their stamps.  I have quite a few of their stamps but had to be quite creative for this since I didn't have any that related to the Halloween theme.

No Tricks, Just Treats

I had this awesome SVG that I downloaded for Make The Cut to use on my Cricut.  It is the black spider web frame.  I just had to use it so decided I really should make some type of Halloween card.  The pumpkin border and the fence at the bottom of the card are both MS border punches.  I then used a MS corner punch to create floral medallions, which I cut in half and used on the two sides. 

 

The center was cut out using a circle Nestie to show the cute pumpkin I stamped onto the yellow base.  I colored it with my Tombow markers.  I then stamped the round border and also cut it out with a circle Nestie, along with the inside.  I then pop dotted it to the front of the card.  Both the pumpkin and the border are from JustRite Stamps.

This was perfect for the JustRite Friday Challenge 040: Colors of Fall.
