At The River's Edge

This is E. Marie, hoping all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.  I had a wonderful time visiting my youngest, with my husband.  Seems like everyone is full force into Christmas preparation now, but I never quite get there until the calendar says December 1st.  As a result, I am sharing a card that still has the look of Fall.

The background for this card was created using glossy cardstock and alcohol inks.  The Couple at the Rivers Edge image, from Just For Fun Rubber Stamps, was stamped in the center of the card front and then cut out.  This was layered on black, teal, and rust cardstock.  The background piece was layered on black and rust.

Then the image was popped up back in the center, using dimensional tape.

Have a wonderful week,

E. Marie

Harvest Bounty

Thanksgiving seems to get lost between Halloween and Christmas, but it is one of my favorite holidays.  It is that time when you stop and remind yourself of all those things in your life that you are thankful for.  These things seem to get lost in everyday life and it is wonderful to take the time to focus on the good in our lives and how blesses we are.

The Cornucopia, also referred to as the Horn of Plenty, symbolizes to me just how blessed I am so I love to use it on my Thanksgiving cards.  This new Just For Fun image I used is named Harvest Bounty.

It was colored with Tombow markers and parts of a second image were popped up on top to provide some dimension.  The background paper is Bo Bunny's Farmers' Market.

I hope this card and post reminds you how blessed you are and how thankful I am for each one of you.

Just For Fun November Challenge

Halloween has flown by and it is time for the November Challenge at the Just For Fun Blog.  The theme is Thanksgiving, along with Family and Travel.

I used three different Just for Fun stamp images for this card.  The small Stamptangle Pumpkin and the Stamptangle Tall Pumpkin were stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed in gold on decorative cardstock.  The corn and wheat from the new Harvest Bounty were also heat embossed in gold and colored with Copics.  All were fussy cut and layered on a large red circle, die cut with a Spellbinders’ Circle Nestability.

The background is layers of two designer cardstocks, brown cardstock and a cream card base.  The front yellow layer was edged with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with more gold EP.  The JFF Happy Thanksgiving sentiment was added to the top.

We would love for you to share your cards for the JFF November Challenge.  Find more details, inspiration, and the link on the blog, here.
