Color Bursts With Stencils

It is so hard to believe that it is already November.  Fall is flying by.  Someone jokingly said that after Halloween we skip to Christmas and that is exactly what I am doing today with the cards I am sharing.

This first card uses the Stamptangle Oak Leaf from Just For Fun.

The background was created on watercolor paper, using a stencil and Color Bursts.  The stencil was taped over the cardstock, the powders sprinkled in the open areas, and spritzed with water.  After carefully removing the stencil, additional color was splattered on top.  After this has dried, the leaf was stamped with Versamark Ink and heat embossed on top of the stenciled area.

The sentiment is a portion the Colorful Autumn Greetings from Just For Fun.  It is colored with various Distress Inks and stamped along the bottom.

Now we jump to Christmas but using the same colors and stencil.  After removing the stencil from the first card, it was flipped on top of another piece of watercolor paper and pressed down.  This creates the reverse affect with a little more subtle color.  Just for Fun's Balsam Branch is stamped around the edges after it is dry.

The Joy sentiment, also from Just for Fun, is heat embossed on watercolor paper colored with Color Bursts.  After trimming around the word, it is layered in the center.

This is a fun technique to use with your stencils.
