Happy Anniversary

This has been quite a week.  I fell real hard on my knee at work earlier and it has really hurt.  Laid me up for a bit but feels better today.  I had to get xrays today and nothing is broken.  Thank goodness.  I had to find something to do for a while after work, since I needed to stay on that end of town to pick up my daughter.  Since my knee wasn't hurting too bad I decided I could take a peek at Hobby Lobby.  Now, those of you that really know me understand my love for a great bargain.  In fact, I have been labeled the "Enabler" by those closest to me (I think my friends should look in the mirror).  When I find a great deal, I call them all up to see if they want me to spend their money, too.  Well, today I only enabled myself.  I was browsing in the stamping/scrapbooking area when I spotted a clearance tag on a Cuttlebug.  I already own a Big Shot, which I absolutely love.  However, it is a bit bulky to drag around.  I have been thinking that it would be nice to have a Cuttlebug to haul around in my trunk for when I go elsewhere to play, but I just couldn't justify spending the money when I already had the Big Shot and a Cricut Expression.  Well, this little guy was screaming my name.  It had a note on it that it had been returned by a customer who said it didn't work.  They claimed it did work but had been used so it was marked down.  I checked it out and it had probably only been used to cut 2 dies.  Everything was in the box and it was like new.  I loaded it in my cart and paid a whole $20 dollars for it.  Guess what - It works great.  Yeah!!!!  Then I went home and iced my knee with a big smile on my face.  Ok, enough gloating - on with my latest creation.

I decided to start on my cards for our stamp club card swap with an Anniversary theme.  This card has a 5" x 7" cream base.  I sponged a little Tea Dye Distress Ink around the edges.

Then I created a border on the left side by scoring and folding some hydrangea decorative paper.  I added a heart trim on each side, using a Martha Stewart border punch.  The heart in the center is made using Nestabilities from Spellbinders.  I layered a cream heart onto a white scalloped heart. I used pop dots to layer this onto a larger cream heart, ending with a larger white scalloped heart.  I sponged a little of the Tea Dye ink around the edges of each cream heart.

I stamped a hydrangea flower with the same Tea Dye ink on the top cream heart.  This stamp is from the Plant a Little Love Set from JustRite Stamps.  I glued small silk flowers on top of the floral part of the image.  I stamped the image a second time and cut out the leaves.  I molded them and rolled the edges slightly, then used pop dots to place them on top of the first image to give them a 3-D affect.

The sentiment and borders are from JustRite's Baroque Nested Frames & Occasions.  I just bought this set at my fun weekend two weeks ago at Scrapbook Creations and love it.  It comes with 3 double layered, decorative, rectangular borders and 3 very useful sayings.  I stamped the sentiment with lilac ink on white, then layered it on more of the hydrangea paper.  This is layered onto cream, stamped with the smaller rectangular border in the Tea Dye ink.  This is also layered on top of the hydrangea paper and then onto white cardstock, stamped with the larger border in lilac ink.

I used a sketch from the Fussy and Fancy Challenge. I decided to have a little fun with this sketch by reversing the shapes on the sketch, yet keeping with the sketch layout.  Where it shows a square shape, I placed the heart shapes, and then put my rectangular sentiment whereit shows a heart shape.  See the sketch below.
