All About Love

Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite holidays and only one day away.  I’m not sure which I love more – roses or chocolates.  Today’s card combines another favorite, black and red, and uses three images from Just For Fun’s latest release.

Cupid's Arrows was stamped in red on two sides of the card front. This was layered on black and the white card base.  A red strip, embossed with hearts, was layered on black and added across the center.

The Postal Hearts-2 Sided stamp was used to stamp the two heart images in black.  The roses were colored with Copic Markers and a little grey shading was added.  These were fussy cut and centered on the card front.

It’s not too late to get creative for Valentine’s Day.  How do you show your love?

Just For Fun February Challenge

Time just keeps flying by and it is already time for the February Challenge at the Just For Fun Rubber Stamps Blog.

 February’s theme is “Sweet Things”

To help inspire you, I chose the JFF stamp, American Beauties.  This was heat embossed with Detail White Embossing Powder on watercolor paper.  Then it was color using Derwent Inktense Pencils and a watercolor brush.  I used the color of my favorite roses and added a light blue wash in the background.  This was added to layers of white, light pink, and dark pink.

The sentiment is from JFF’s To My Friend Word Block.  It was stamped with Memento Ink on a yellow rectangle and layered on pink, cut with a Spellbinders Nestabilities A2 Card Creator Die.  A second die was cut from white and the pink was layered on top with it slightly offset.

Head on over to the JFF Blog for more inspiration and all the details.  If you enter the challenge you will have a chance to win a gift certificate to the Just for Fun on-line store.

Live, Love, Laugh!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine’s Day and some time with those you love.  I had fun spending the day with Just For Fun, helping with their Make N Take at the stamp convention in Columbia, SC.  After a great weekend with lots of delightful stampers, I made it home in time to go out for desert with the hubby.  I have to admit that I somehow ran out of gas on the way home (problem with my gas gauge), but with the help of a sweet, young couple I still made it home on a timely basis.

I have one more Valentine’s card to share, though you easily could use it for other occasions.

The JFF image, StampTangle Garden Heart, was heat embossed in white.  Then the Stacked Blocks stamp was inked with Distress Ink and lightly spritzed with water and stamped across the background, alternating colors.  Excess ink was wiped off of the embossed image and a few splatter drops added.

The sentiment, from JFF’s Sentiments 1 Unmounted Sheet, was stamped with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink and a sheer bow and jewels were added to the card front.

Have a wonderful week.
