Catch Me If You Can

Finally I have a card without a Fall theme.  Instead I have jumped to Winter (not a season I look forward to, except for Christmas).

This card was made using a sketch from the JustRite Friday Challenge.  I actually flipped the design to the right so instead of having a design along the bottom of the card, it is to the left side of the card.  This allowed room to show the cute gingerbread house on my decorative paper from Martha Stewart.  I started with a red card base and made a layer of white, using a MD snowflake border punch on the left and right sides.  On top of this I added a layer of brown decorative gingerbread cardstock from a MS Christmas pack.

I stamped a small gingerbread man, from JustRite Stamps, onto an "inchie" white card, colored him with brown colored pencil, and used red Smooch to add some pizzaz to his cheeks and buttons.  I layered this onto a small red square, a dark brown square, and another red square.  The border on the brown square is also from JustRite, stamped in white Stazon, and used red Smooch, again, to give the look of berries.

The border below it is made by using a MS gingerbread man border punch on both sides of a white strip of cardstock.  This is layered on a brown strip to provide color for the gingerbread man/woman, and then layered onto a red strip.  All of this is layered onto another white strip with both sides punch by another MS border punch.  I felt like this punch gave the look of decorative frosting.

My embellishment on the corner is made up of a peppermint candy that I punched out of another sheet from the Christmas pack, using a circle punch.  It is hard to see in the picture, but I added glitter to it, then wrapped it in a small amount of cellophane, to look like a piece of candy.  I added a few gumdrops that I cut out of another sheet from the same Christmas pack.

I entered this card in the following challenges:
