Pocket Tissue Holder

It was my turn to share a project at our last stamp meeting and I found this adorable Pocket Tissue Holder.  I seem to catch everything from my little kindergartners this year and have been sick constantly.  This must be why I was so attracted to this adorable project that is perfect for a little gift.

The base is a strip of blue cardstock measuring 11” x 4 ¼”, scored along the 11” side at ½”, 3”, 4”, and 6 ½”.  Decorative paper was cut into three pieces measuring 3/4 x 4 (front strip), 2 1/4 x 4 (top area), and 3 1/4 x 4 (backing area).  A corner rounder was used on the base piece and backing piece.  This easily folds up around a pocket size package of tissues.

The sentiment from the Bugs in a Jar Stamp Set was stamped with Distress Ink and layered on the front edge.

I used two sizes of Spellbinders’ Oval Nestability Dies to create the frame opening for the tissues, but you can also use different punches.

The cute little bug on the back section is also from the Bugs in a Jar set.  It was stamped four times, twice on white cardstock and twice on top of Glistening Emerald Sparkle N Soft that was added to Tear-fic Tape on white cardstock.  One on white cardstock was die cut with Spellbinders Circle die and layered on a blue Nellie Snellen Bloem Multi Frame.  One of the Sparkle N Soft images was fussy cut and layered on the base one.  The eyes and eye lids were cut from the remaining two images and layered on top to give some dimension.  Dogwood Rose Velvet Glitter was added to the antennas with a glue pen.  The Feel Better Soon from the Just For You Stamp Set was stamped and die cut.  Both the image and saying were popped up with dimensionals.

To add a little more sparkle, a Versamarker was run across some of the wavy lines on the designer paper and around the sentiment.  Sparkle Embossing Powder was added and heat set.

This is such a perfect little gift to give someone that is not feeling well or even for a teacher gift.  The images used can be cute and fun, like I used, or much more elegant.  I found this project at Splitcoast Stampers where they provide a complete tutorial.
