Sparkle N Sprinkle and Die-Versions Awareness Campaign Joint Blog Hop

Sparkle N Sprinkle and Die-Versions are partnering up for a very special joint blog hop, called the Awareness Campaign.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the newly released Die-Versions dies and the stamp sets revealed in the joint blog hop will go to help with cancer research.

Almost everyone has been touched by cancer in one way or another.  Either you or a family member has had cancer or you know someone who has had cancer.  The Designers from both teams are joining together to help the fight to eradicate all cancers by inspiring you.

Die-Versions
Die-Versions is debuting NINE new Die-Versions low profile dies (July 2015 Reveal - scroll down to the end of the reveal) and Sparkle N Sprinkle is revealing THREE stamp sets for this Awareness Campaign.  All stamp sets will be 20% off until Aug 3.

Awareness 714   (digi version  DIGI714T)

A Grand Prize winner will be chosen from comments left on the Designers' blogs and will be announced on August 4th.  You won't know who the Mystery Designer is until after the Joint Blog hop, so remember to leave a comment with each of the Designers.

The Winner will be announced on the Die-Versions Facebook page, the Sparkle N Sprinkle Facebook page, the DV Blog, and on the SNS Blog and will receive a $25 gift certificate from BOTH Die-Versions and Sparkle N Sprinkle.

We hope you enjoy the Awareness Joint Blog Hop as much as we have enjoyed creating new projects for it.  We also hope that we have inspired you as well.  Thanks for joining us and remember to comment on each of the Designers' blogs to be eligible for the Grand Prize.  (We love reading them too since your comments also inspire us.)

I have had several friends and two sisters touched by cancer.  One of my sisters is a survivor and the other passed away.  I created these cards in honor of my sisters.  It was a bitter/sweet experience, rejoicing and grieving.  In the midst of creating these, my father passed away, which was very difficult but I know he is now with my sister.

I have two projects to share with you.  This first card was created using the Die-version’s Whispers Awareness Square die and Sparkle N Sprinkle’s Pink Ribbon Background digital image.  After printing the background, I used the die in the center to create a window and layered it on a piece of cardstock covered with Super Adhesive.  The Glitter Masking technique and a strip of lace were used to create the borders on each side with Pretty Princess glitter and all remaining adhesive was covered with Black Ice glitter.

For the center, I cut the die from white cardstock covered with Super Adhesive and covered it with Pretty Princess glitter.  I wanted this popped up so I cut it twice from black fun foam and used this to give it the dimension I wanted.

For my second project I decided to create a larger piece that could be displayed.  I used a piece of designer cardstock and layered it on a slightly large piece of white.  This was popped up with dimensionals on a piece edged with “Tear-ific” Tape and covered with Ballerina Velvet glitter.  All of this was layered on more white and a black base.

For the flower, I stamped the image from the Survivor Stamp Set five times with Versamark ink on vellum and heat embossed with Lana Pink embossing powder.  After heat setting each one, they were cut out and arranged around a circle.  The sentiment was also heat embossed with Lana Pink EP on top of a circle of sticker paper covered with Ballerina Velvet glitter.  This velvet glitter is so smooth it is easy to emboss on it.  This was layered on a white scalloped circle and popped up in the center of the flower

The butterflies were created with Die-version’s Whispers Awareness Butterfly.  I love how they came out.  I traced the die onto white cardstock and cut them out.  I used the Glitter Paper technique by covering them with Versamark ink and Sparkle EP.  After heat setting, I covered them with more Versamark ink, added Ballerina Velvet glitter, and heat set them again.  Next I cut them from vellum and adhered them.  A lovely pearl is added to the center (this helps cover up the glue).

The Sparkle N Sprinkle Creative Challenge also begins today with lots of prizes and recognition badges.  Find out how you can become a SNS Featured Artist with special recognition on the SNS Facebook page as well as the Creative Challenge Winner's post.  From time to time, we also have special prizes just for Featured Artists.  The theme is always Anything Goes using Loose Glitter, Embossing Powder, and/or Flock.
Hopefully you came from Mary’s blog.  Your next stop on the Awareness Campaign Blog Hop is Lori’s.  If you get lost along the way or have a problem with a link, the complete list of Designers is located on both the Die-Versions Blog as well as the Sparkle N Sprinkle Blog.  Happy Hopping!

E. Marie

E. Marie - First of all, so sorry about your losses, your sister from cancer, and your father so recently. This is a tough time for you. I hope you can find some comfort knowing this cancer awareness blog hop is helping to raise awareness and research dollars to eradicate cancer. Your cards are amazing - the Black Ice and Pretty Princess card POPS and the colors are perfect! Your second card is truly stunning. It is a piece of art that I would love to have on my wall! I love how you made the flower with the sentiment and made petals out of it. So creative! So wonderful!

Love your designs. The card has such great contrast. The second piece is just beautiful. The pearl in the center really makes the butterfly.

The first card is bold and bright and just wonderful. The window you have created really helps to make it pop. The 2nd card is equally beautiful but it is soft and tender, a good contrast to the first card. The idea to display that card is one that I think I will use, thanks!

Marie ~ I am so sorry for the recent loss of your father, it is never easy to lose a parent or sibling! Your cards are absolutely gorgeous! I love the way you made the Awareness Square into a window, it looks so lovely with the black glitter behind it. But your pink butterfly card is by far my favorite! I love the way the Awareness Butterfly turned out, great fussy cutting and I love how the background piece turned out with Sparkle embossing powder and then the Ballerina Velvet glitter!! I would never think to layer embossing powder and glitter together!
