Not My Favorite - Sympathy Cards

It seems like I have needed a lot of sympathy cards lately.  This is not something we want to have a need for but it is a card that we can really pour our heart into.  Here are several that I made recently.

This first card is more masculine.  I wanted it to portray the idea of strength.  I used three different designer papers and some craft cardstock.  I added some shading to the image using Pumice Stone Distress Ink and a Dove Blender.  I die cut it using Spellbinders’ dies that I practically forgot were in my stash, Octagons and Scalloped Octogons.  Why have I not used these more often?  I also distressed a lot of the edges.  The image and sentiment are both from Sparkle N Sprinkle.  Details of this card can be found here.

This second card is the total opposite with a very feminine look.  I love the colors in this card.  I used a Spellbinders’ Floral Ovals die to back the sentiment, sponging the edges with ink.  Some pearls and a bow add the final touches.  Get more details on this card here.

My last card uses a digital stamp, Flower Wreath Set, from Sparkle N Sprinkle.  This is a great digital image and comes with lots of different sentiments.  I colored it with alcohol markers and die cut it using the Spellbinders’ Octogon dies, again.  I added the image, along with some rectangle on the front of a pre-made card base.  Detailed instructions for this card can be found here.

Hopefully I won’t need too many more of these in the near future but maybe these gave you some ideas in case you find the need.

Marie, thank you for the wonderful design ideas and color combinations with these images. Very pretty! My favorite is the tiger because of the rich colors, but I really like the violet wreath shape, shading and colors. Beautiful cards all three! hugs, de
