Today has been a very difficult day for me. I shipped my daughter off to Italy yesterday and I have not heard from her yet. I am sure she is ok, but the mother in me is in anguish. One of my friends asked me over to play for a bit and I decided it would help me get my mind off of things so off I went. It was a nice afternoon and evening.
This card is made using stamps from Sweet Stamps. I started with a cream base and added layers of dark brown and pink dotted decorative cardstock. I added another layer of brown and a square of more decorated cardstock from the opposite side. This is some of the new paper I purchased at our brand new JoAnn’s. It’s about time we have one here. We are very excited.
For the image I stamped the center, only, of the Elegant Filigree Oval in dark brown and colored it with Tombow markers. I cut it out with an oval Spellbinder Nestability and layered it on a brown frame cut out with a new die that I bought called Oval Filigree Frame. For the next layer I stamped the Elegant Scrollwork Frame in dark brown and colored in the sides with brown Tombow marker. I cut the center of the image out with a Spellbinder Label Die, ran it through an embossing folder, and sponged brown ink around the edges. I popped all of this with foam tape in the center right of the card after running a strip of lace and light pink ribbon down the left side and adding pearls.
