Snowglobe

For the first time since starting to make my Christmas cards, I am making an assortment to send rather than  50 of the same one.  This has been a bit more challenging but lots of fun.  One thing that has helped me is to try to use a similar color scheme (can you guess mine?) so you can have most of your supplies in front of you.  Also, I try to punch/diecut a lot of similar pieces so once I set up the basic design, I can just add lots of the extras from what is sitting there.  This is a card I have been wanting to make ever since I received my new stamp set from Our Daily Bread.  It was perfect for this.  Hopefully you don't mind a little blue again.

I outlined/cut the snowglobe and base with my Cricut Expression using MTC and stippled blue around the edges.   I used foam tape to mount it over the stamped image, then layered on dark blue.  This is layered onto some decorative paper (sorry do not know who's).  At the bottom of the paper it reads "A Time To Gather".  I wanted this to show because with the image it just reminded me of going to visit family for Christmas and driving at night with the snow coming down.  The decorative paper is layered onto more dark cardstock the had been embossed with a Cuttlebug Folder and then white Stazon ink rubbed over it  This is all mounted onto the white card base.

The image in the globe was made by sponging different blue layers of ink on white cardstock, then stamping the beautiful image in dark blue over it.  I used it to behind the snowglobe to make a small shaker pocket filled with punched white snowflakes and white mini glass beads.

Here is a second view so maybe you can see it better.

Most of the snowflakes are cut from Spellbinder dies in blue and white, layered, and popdotted to the front.  I added some snowflake jewels to the centers.  I also added glitter to the snowflakes and the white embossing to give it some sparkle.  This really added.

You can't see this real clear, but this snowflake is a metal embellishment that I purchased several years ago at Michael's.  I sponged a little white Stazon on the edges and added a pearl to the middle.  I also added small pearls to the middle of some of the other snowflakes on the embossed background of the card.
