Spent some
time at a friend’s house and she was working on her Easter cards. She was using this amazing image from Our Daily Bread Designs called
Crown
Of Thorns. She was kind enough to
let me borrow it to make this card that I hope shares the true story of Easter.
I decided to
use Seedless Preserves Distress Ink for the image and popped it up on top of
layers if black, white, and purple. The
purple was to represent royalty and I used the Union
Square die from Sue Wilson Dies’ New
York Collection. I loved the cut on the
outer black layer with the look of rays spreading out from the
image. I sponged a little white pigment
ink on parts of the black and added
small black metal brads to represent nail heads.
I wanted to add a cross so I die cut an embossed piece of white
cardstock with Heartfelt Creations Decorative Oval Window Die and cut out the
center to use behind the image.
Thanks for
visiting,
E. Marie
