Despite how the weather is acting in some places, it is spring. This is my favorite season and this coming weekend
is one of my favorite holidays – Easter.
For my Easter cards, I like to mix it up with fun, bright bunny and
chick cards and more subtle, elegant religious cards.
Today’s card features Just For Fun's Easter Cross. It is a great combination of the cross and
lovely lilies. I heat embossed the image
with detail white embossing powder on kraft cardstock. I did a little experimenting with colored
pencils to get a lighter look behind the image by coloring around it with
yellow, and then white, colored pencils.
Then I buffed over this to help blend the coloring and sponged Distress Ink around the outer edges.

I used a mixture of colored pencils and Tombow markers to
color the actual image. I really love
how the lilies came out, with the soft white and a little of the craft showing
through.

The sentiment, He Has Risen, was stamped with Dusty Concord Distress
Ink and die cut with Spellbinders’ Ribbon Banner die. Before removing the die cut from the die, it
was lightly sponged with Tea Dye Distress Ink.
