One Last Christmas Card

Merry Day after Christmas.  Sure hope everyone had a wonderful time yesterday with friends and family.  I know I did.  I thought I would share one more Christmas themed card inspired by my parents.  They used to love going camping and would come visit us and park their big camper in our back yard.  The new little camper image from Just For Fun was perfect for this.

Dark blue was used for the background and was die cut with a star background die.  This was layered on yellow to show the stars.

The tree is the Stamptangle Christmas Tree, also from JFF. It was stamped on the blue background, then stamped a second time on a paint chip.  This was fussy cut and layered on top of the original.  The star was stamped on yellow, fussy cut, and heat embossed with Sparkle EmbossingPowder to make it sparkle.  This same embossing powder was added to the circular ornaments hanging from the tree.

The JFF CMP-Round Camper was watercolored and fussy cut.  The Sparkle EP was added to the little Christmas lights.  A glitter pen was used on the metal areas.

The “celebrate” was die cut from red cardstock and heat set with Sparkle EP.

Have a wonderful time relaxing after all the Christmas activities.

Coffee Joy

This week is the 2016 Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop so I have been working on some coffee themed cards.  As a result, today's card is a mix of elegance and fun.  The elegance comes from the delicate, dry embossed background and decorative, elongated ornaments with bows.  The fun comes from the addition of the little coffee cups.

Just For Fun's Stamptangle Teardrop Ornaments were colored with a mix of watercolors and Copic Markers.  They were fussy cut and popped up on the card front.  The Cup of Joe , also from JFF, was stamped with Rich Cocoa Memento Ink, punched out with a circle punch, and also popped up.

The Joy To The World sentiment comes from JFF's Sentiments 1 Unmounted Sheet.  It was stamped with Rich Cocoa Memento Ink on coordinating cardstock and layered on blue. I actually had another sentiment in mind, but lost the stamp in the mess on my craft table.  Decided this one would work just as well.  Being a coffee lover, it definitely brings joy to my world.

I know a few other coffee lovers that will love a Christmas card like this.

Thanksgiving Paper Pieced Pumpkin

With the holiday only two days away, my card is all about fall, pumpkins, and Thanksgiving.  In the rush to Christmas, Thanksgiving is sometimes shoved into the background but it is such an important time to let others know how grateful we are for them and also to remind ourselves how blessed we are.

Just For Fun's Stamptangle Tall Pumpkin is heat embossed in white onto 4 different decorative cardstocks and paper pieced together.  A little distress ink was sponged around the edges of each pumpkin layer.  This was adhered on top of a die cut background, cut with Spellbinders’ Leaves a Fallin' Decorative Card Front die.  The Branch image from JFF was stamped in brown and fussy cut.  Pieces of it were tucked behind the pumpkin.

The Happy Thanksgiving sentiment is from the JFF Sentiments 1 Unmounted Sheet.  It was stamped in brown and tucked under some fiber wraps and a silk bow.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Fall Leaves

With the chill in the air, the leaves are really changing colors.  I love to drive through the mountains and see all the bright colors.  Our neighbor’s tree is full of gorgeous, golden leaves.  Here is a card using the Zentangles leaves from Just For Fun to share those lovely fall colors.

The Stamptangle Maple Leaf and Stamptangle Oak Leaf were stamped with Distress Inks around the edge of the card front.  The same inks were used to watercolor them and add splatters.

The card front was cut into three angled pieces and layered onto rust colored cardstock.  This was adhered to the card base, with the middle section popped up.  The JFF Thinking of You was stamped in dark brown in the bottom corner.

Take time to enjoy this lovely time of the year.

Just For Fun November Challenge

Wow! It is already November 1st and time for a new challenge at Just For Fun Rubber Stamps Blog.  Halloween is past (barely) so now we can focus on Giving Thanks.

I chose to use the new JFF stamp, Stamptangle Gourds.  They were colored with Zig Watercolor Markers and fussy cut.  It was layered on a die cut wreath from Impression Obsessions Twig Wreath Die Set.  Small leaves were tucked around the edges.  These were cut with an older Spellbinders’ leaf die from paper colored with Distress Inks.

The “Thanks” is from Sue Wilson Designs Expression Collection.  This was cut from the card front allowing the second layer to show through.

Small brown pearls where added above and below the “Thanks”.

Check out the JFF Blog for more inspiration, along with all the details of the challenge.

Seahorses In Seaweed

Yes, I know it is fall and the cooler weather has finally arrived where I live.  However, this is the time of year that my family loves to visit the beach.  October isn’t usually as humid and definitely less crowded.  This explains the card I am sharing today.

I love seahorses and the Seahorses In Seaweed from Just For Fun is such a great image.  Light blue was added to a piece of watercolor paper.  Watercolor markers were used to paint directly to the rubber stamp, then it was lightly spritzed with water and stamped.  Layers of copper and blue green were added.

The Memory Box die, Deep Sea Corner, was cut from copper and tucked under the image on the right side.  I even found some background paper with lovely fall colors.

There is nothing like a visit to the ocean, even in Fall.

Hope you have a wonderful week,

Spiders and Cats, Oh My!!

I

I have enjoyed having my youngest home for a few days, due to Hurricane Matthew.  So glad she could be home safe and hope those of you affected by this major storm have not suffered too much damage or loss.  Praying for everyone as the east coast tries to recover.

Halloween is on its way and these sweet little black kitties can’t wait.  These are some of the new Just For Fun Stamptangle images that can be seen in their online store here.

The “happy halloween” sentiment is from JFF's Sentiments 1 Unmounted Sheet.  It was stamped at the top of this die cut window, which was layered on orange decorative cardstock, edged with dark grey ink.  This was added to layers of black, orange designer cardstock, and green on the white card base.

The Stamptangle Cats were heat embossed in black and and fussy cut.  After coloring them with shades of grey, these cuties were layered onto the card front.  They are totally enthralled with that little black spider.

Have a great week.

Just For Fun October Monthly Challenge

Fall has arrived and with the beginning of October there is a new challenge at the Just For Fun Rubber Stamps blog.  It is all about “Halloween”.  Just For Fun has just released some great new images perfect for this spooky season that can be seen by clicking here.

Since I work with kindergarten children, when it comes to Halloween I immediately think of spiders and bats.

I started by creating a background using a template created with a Spellbinder die.  I sponged Distress Ink on the inside and outside.

The Just for Fun Spider with Web and the Mummy were embossed in white on the card front.

The sentiment from JFF’s Sentiments 1 Unmounted Sheet is stamped in black along the bottom

and the Small Hanging Bat was fussy cut and added to the top.

The little embellishments were created by melting pearler beads in the oven.

Head on over to the JFF Blog for more details on the challenge and enjoy the amazing cards created by my fellow designers.

Hot Air Balloon Paper Piecing

I wanted to share another card using an assortment of the wonderful Hot Air Balloon images from Just For Fun Rubber Stamps.  These great designs stamped on decorative paper make a great combination.

The Flower Balloon, Hot Air Balloon, and Steam Punk Balloon were each stamped on the card front in a cluster.  Then they were each stamped on different decorative papers, fussy cut, and layered on top of the matching images on the card front.

The Enjoy Life sentiment was stamped in black above the balloons.

The card front was added to layers of some of the same cardstock used for the paper piecing.  Distress ink was used on all edges.

Enjoy you week.

Life is A Journey

Happy Labor Day

Have you ever had the chance to ride in a hot air balloon?  Though I have not done this, and I'm not sure I would be brave enough to, I imagine it to be a magical experience.  Life is full of these experiences and today’s card is for one of those times.

I started with a simple background stamped lightly with the Stacked Blocks from Just For Fun Rubber Stamps.  This was layered on some brightly colored decorative cardstock.

I stamped JFF's Flower Balloon directly on the card front and then a second time on a separate piece of white cs.  I colored the second image with coordinating colors, then cut out the balloon and basket and layered them on the first image.

The sentiment, Life is a Journey, also from JFF, was layered on multiple layers and adhered to the front.

What magical moments will be part of your life’s journey?

Stamptangle Fun

I am one of those people that absolutely love the look of Zentangle, but I really do not always have the time to create it myself.  If this describes you, then make sure you check out all the Just For Fun Stamptangle images in the Just For Fun online store, including many new ones.

The Stamptangle Dolphin is featured on today’s card.  I had so much fun coloring it with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens on watercolor paper.  I did the same with the Stamptangle Water Splash and then cut them out to create the splashes at the bottom.

The sentiment is from JFF's Sentiments 1 Unmounted Sheet.  It was heat embossed in white and die cut with Spellbinders’ Label 4.  The edges were inked to make it stand out more.

I had a little fun with the background.  I stamped the Circles Background on top of decorative cardstock and heat embossed in white.  This gave it some great color with a bubbly look.

Don’t forget about the Just For Fun August Challenge with the theme of “Sand in Our Toes”.  It’s all about the ocean and beach.  You have until Wednesday, August 31st to enter your creation for a chance at a JFF Gift Card.

Enjoy your week!
