Cards
with windows and shaker elements are very popular right now. For my project I decided to combine this with
my love for flowers and make this fun shaker card.
For
the card front I used layers of striped designer and red cardstock. I wanted a little more sparkle so I used a
glue pen to add Sparkle Embossing Powder to the red stripes on the designer
cardstock. When heat set it adds sparkle
without changing the color of the stripes.
An oval window was cut through both layers with Spellbinders’ Classic Oval Die and acetate was layered behind. I
cut a frame with Spellbinders’ Opulent Ovals and used the Glitter Paper Technique to add Sparkle EP. This was
layered over the window.
I
heat embossed the floral image from the Poppies set with Black Detail Embossing Powder
and colored with Nuance Powder Dye. The card
front was popped up over the image and I used Pine Grove Glitter Tinsel and
some green sequins for inside the shaker window. These sometimes like to stick to the acetate
so I rubbed the Static Free pouch over it to reduce this. The sentiment was heat embossed with Detail Black EP and layered on a piece of red, also covered with Sparkle EP.
The Sparkle N Sprinkle Creative Challenge also
begins today. There are lots of prizes and recognition badges. Come
check out how you can become a SNS Featured Artist as well. The theme is
always Anything Goes using Loose Glitter, Embossing Powder, and/or
Flock.

Your shaker card is beautiful. I love how you made your own glitter paper then die cut your frame. I am going to have to give that technique a try. Thanks for the video link. Thanks for sharing.

What wonderful composition! You did a great job on the framing of the poppies. I love the embossing that you picked. It made the framing of the poppies just stand out like an old fashioned frame. Just love it. Great job!
