It’s Not About The Shoes

Ballet Shoes is one of the new stamp sets released this month.  When I first saw the set I thought it was very pretty, but somewhat limited in its use.  However, I love the sentiments that come with this set because they really give it so many other possibilities, as shown in the card featured today.

The card base was created using Spellbinders’ Mystical Embrace die and the edges were inked using Distress Inks.  A piece of musical designer paper was distressed and inked and added to the card front.

The ballet slippers were stamped with Versamark Ink on pink cardstock and heat embossed with Belgian Cream embossing powder.  Copic Markers were used to add shading and, after fussy cutting, it was layered on a doily, die cut from cream cardstock with Cheery Lynn’s Kiwi Spirit die and inked on the edges.  Tiny pink pearls were added to the doily.

The sentiment was stamped on pink cardstock and die cut with the small decorative oval from the Mystical Embrace die set.  The edges were inked and a tulle bow and glittery silk flowers were added to the top.

The flowers were silks pulled from a stem.  To give them the glittery look, the petals were brushed with Brushable Glue and Bridal glitter was added.  This is one of my favorite glitters because of its rich, creamy look.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog.  I hope you leave with inspiration and the desire to create!

E. Marie

This week, our Challenge is still ongoing so, please stop by again and join us at Word Art Wednesday! Leaving you the blessing found in God's Word from Hosea 10:12 which says, "Sow righteousness for yourselves, reap the fruit of unfailing love, and break up your unplowed ground; for it is time to seek the LORD, until he comes and showers his righteousness on you." Hugs, always!
