Old Well

Have you seen the new release set called Old Well from Sparkle N Sprinkle?  It features this wonderful image of an old brick well surrounded by greenery and flowers.  I love how it looks and decided to use it for today’s card.

I wanted to give it a lighter look so after I heat embossed it with White Detail EP on craft cardstock, I used colored pencils to add color.  This way I could still let some of the kraft color show through the image.  I did a little blending but let most of the coloring lines show to give it a bit more texture.

After coloring, I die cut it with Spellbinders’ Label Eight.  Then I used the Distressed Embossing Powder Technique to add Chocolate Sparkle EP around the edges.  This was popped up with dimensionals on a purple layer die cut with Spellbinders’ Decorative Labels Eight and added to the white card base.

The sentiment was stamped with Dusty Concord Distress Ink and die cut with a pennant die from Spellbinders’ Nested Lacey Pennants.  I cut it shorter on one side and used a corner rounder.  This was popped up with dimensionals.  I stamped part of the main image a second time and fussy cut a few of the flowers to layer over the sentiment.

To add a little more sparkle, I used a glue pen to add Purple Rain Velvet Glitter to the florals sections of the purple die cut in the background, along with small purple jewels.

What an amazing use of this technique, Marie - especially with the beautifully shaded colored pencils. I especially like that the sentiment is stamped in coordinating purple, and that you have fussy cut the tiny wisteria blooms over the sentiment. Beautifully detailed in every way! Hope you are enjoying your week off! xo
