Seasonal Tree Tag

This project started out to be a tall, skinny card but then I found this wonderful large tag that would be the perfect base layer so made an executive decision to change my mind!  It worked so great with the image from a recent new release set from Sparkle N Sprinkle called Seasonal Trees.  This set comes with a large tree image with just the trunk and branches.  Then there is a variety of small images to create the leaves, flowers, or snowflakes in both solid and outline.

After stamping and heat embossing the main tree image, using Versamark ink and Teddy Brown embossing powder, I die cut it with Spellbinders’ Long Classic Scalloped Rectangle.  Then I cut it into 4 pieces.  I created 4 different seasons by stamping the solid leaves, flowers, and snowflakes colored with Tombow markers.  Then I over stamped a few of each with the coordinating outline image, using Versamark ink and a variety of embossing powders.  For the green leaves I used Moss Star, for the Fall leaves I used Sienna Star and Hit The Beach, for the snowflake I used Ice Rink and Winter White, and for the flowers I used Princess Rose.

I layered the 4 pieces on top of a slightly larger rectangle with rounded corners.  Before adding the images, I distressed all the edges and covered the rectangle with Versamark ink.  I added Blackened Bronze embossing powder and heat set.  After repeating this step, I lightly sprinkled Florida Beach and Impulsive Purple glitter on top while the embossing powder was still hot.  This was layered on a pink layer with rounded corners and distressed edges.  The edges were also inked and then Princess Rose embossing powder was added using the Distressed Embossing Powder technique.  Then all four pieces of the stamped image were popped up on top.

The sentiment is from the Garden Silhouette set and was stamped and heat embossed with Teddy Brown embossing powder on pink cardstock.  This was layered behind a green die cut, using Spellbinders’ Back to Basics Tags set and ribbon added.

All of this was added to a large pre-cut tag with Rich Cocoa Memento Ink sponged on the edges.  Coordinating fiber was strung through the top.

This card could be used as a card, but it also would look great added to a scrapbook page.
