I absolutely love our new
little mermaid and used her for my card.
Of course, you have to have water for your little mermaid, so I added some water, waves, and shells through the center of my card. I created the shell borders by heat embossing the image six times with Detail Black EP on top of the white cardstock covered with Cloud Nine Velvet glitter (see Stamping on Velvet Glitter in our Tips and Techniques). Then I added color with Copic Markers (see Copics on Velvet Glitter in our Tips and Techniques). These were fussy cut and glued along the inside edges of a rectangular piece of cardstock cut from corner to corner. These were popped up with dimensionals in each corner of the card front. The “waves” were embossed with an embossing folder and distressed embossed with Poolside EP (see Distressed Embossing Powder Technique in Tips and Techniques).
Our little mermaid was also heat embossed in black on top of the glitter, colored with Copics, and fussy cut.
The sentiment was heat embossed on a glittered rectangle and then a little Daisy Velvet Glitter was rubbed into the Cloud Nine glitter and a little Memento Bahama Blue ink was sponged on the edges. I ran my black Copic around the edges and layered on the rose cardstock.
This set is so adorable. I think it would be perfect for invites and décor for a little girl’s mermaid birthday party! Is it too late to do this for my two college age girls?
If you want to get your
hands on any of these three new sets right away, they are available at 20% off
- valid through February 3. You may also
phone the SNS Shoppe to place your orders.
Don’t forget to visit the
other designers and leave comment for a chance to win! I know they each have some beautiful
inspiration to share with you.
