I
refer to my card as the never ending card – only because every time I worked on
it I came up with one more thing to do.
After three days I made myself stop and take pictures. I knew I wanted a lot of layers and sparkle
and I decided to use one of my favorite color combinations, blue and
brown. I decided to distress most edges
and sponge with ink.
On
the base card I added the look of stitching by running a piercing tool around
the edge and then adding embossed stitching using a glue pen and Ice Rink EP. I added the same EP on top of the inked
snowflakes on the third layer after punching around the edges with a snowflake
corner/border punch set.
The top two layers were created using Spellbinder dies and then I decided to turn
it into a shaker window. I used more of
the Ice Rink EP on the bottom frame die and the little blue snowflakes in the
shaker window. I used Embossable Clear Acetate for the window and embossed the sentiment using Teddy Brown EP and two
snowflakes with Winter White EP.
I
love all the sparkly layered stickers you can buy for cards and scrapbook pages
and wanted to give this look to this adorable snowman. I created a total of 4 layers and added Cloud Nine Velvet Glitter and Twinkling Clouds Sparkle N Soft to add the sparkle.
Lots
of snowflakes was a must so I used punches, covered them with Cloud Nine Velvet Glitter, and sponged them with ink to add additional color.
I wanted
to try something new with my ribbon. I
used a sheer light blue and added snowflakes using VersaMark ink and Ice Rink EP. I used the heat gun just long enough
to melt the powder, trying not to melt the ribbon. It did cause the edges to curl up a bit but
that just added to the look of the ribbon.
Don’t you just love this adorable set!! Make sure you visit each designer’s blog and leave a comment for a chance to win it. If you can’t wait, head over to the online store where you can get a 20% discount on both this set and the new Flourishes One set. Just use the Code SNOWONE20 in the COMMENTS SECTION. So many luscious layers here! I adore your color palette, your creativity in bringing the snowman to life, and most of all the way this made me feel! It evoked some real emotions for me of wintertime and childhood and I love how you gave it child-like whimsy in such an elegant package! Way to go and I'm so glad you shared your talents with us here at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog!
