Sparkle N Sprinkle May 1st Release

Welcome to Sparkle N Sprinkle's
May 1 New Reveal Blog Hop!

This month we are doing something a little different.  Instead of releasing new stamp sets, all the Designers have been creating projects with Dreamweaver stencils, using various techniques and products.

Be sure to visit the SNS Blog all month long, as well as the Designers' blogs (you can click on the Designers' names to go directly to their blogs) to see different techniques used with the stencils.  Each Designer always posts 2 different projects to the SNS Blog and 4 different projects to their personal blogs each month.

Some of the techniques you’ll see throughout the month are dry embossing with your stencil; double glitter technique; combining embossing pastes with glitter, embossing powders, flocking, and/or guilded flakes; using the embossing paste as a resist; double embossing paste technique and lots of other fun ideas.

All Dreamweaver stencils, soap, and embossing pastes are 20% off until May 3.  So once you finish the blog hop, head on over to the store and start shopping.

Large Feather is the stencil featured with this month's Technique Video Kit.

On May 3, one GRAND PRIZE WINNER will be selected from the comments left on the Designers' blogs.  Please leave a comment with each Designer in order to be eligible for the Grand Prize.  You never know who the Mystery Designer will be that has the winning comment.

The winner will be able to choose $55 worth of any products listed under the Stencils and Templates category, plus mica powders (Pearl Ex) and of course, glitters, embossing powders, flocking, and sticker paper or adhesive sheets.

The Grand Prize Winner will be announced on June 3 on the SNS Facebook page, the Designer's blogs, and here on the SNS Blog.

We are pleased to have Diane and Ashley, two of our 2015 Guest Designers, joining us again this month. They will be our Guest Designers for the months of April, May, and June.

Now on to the hopping.  If you hopped from Ashley’s blog, you are in the right place.  If you just stopped by, you might want to start back at the Sparkle N Sprinkle blog to get all the details.

I used Dreamweaver’s Corner Flowers stencil for my card and combined the use of White Embossing Paste and Sparkle Embossing Powder to create the background.  I laid the stencil on one side of my cardstock and added the embossing paste (go to Embossing Paste and Embossing Powders in Tips and Techniques to see how this is done).  When it was dry I flipped the stencil and laid it on the other side, lining it up on the center flower, and added more paste.  Once again I let this dry and then covered both sides with the stencil and used a Dove Blender and Distress Inks to color it.  When this dried, I covered the whole background with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with Sparkle Embossing Powder.

The sentiment is from the Thoughtful Frames set and was cut out with Spellbinders’ A2 Divine Eloquence die and the edges inked.  It was popped up with dimensionals.

I created the flowers and leaves using a flower image from the Spring Backgrounds set and the leaves and a flower from the Bloomin’ Birthday set.  After stamping, these were fussy cut and shaped with a stylus on a foam mat (see Flower Making in Tips and Techniques) and Cloud Nine Velvet glitter was added using Brushable Glue.  They were adhered around the sentiment and pearls were added to the centers and pearl swirls added.

Your next stop is Belinda’s blog.  I know you will love what she has to share.

Don’t forget that the Sparkle N Sprinkle Creative Challenge also begins today.  There are lots of prizes and recognition badges.  Come check out how you can become a SNS Featured Artist as well.  The theme is always Anything Goes using Loose Glitter, Embossing Powder, and/or Flock.

We hope you enjoy the New Reveal Blog Hop as much as we do.  Thanks for joining us and remember to comment on each of the Designers' blogs to be eligible for the Grand Prize.

Last month Diane was the Mystery Designer with the winning comment.  Wonder who it will be this month????

Friendship Flowers on Vellum

E. Marie here to share a card using the new Friendship Flowers Stamp Set.  The main image on this set is a nice size that makes the flowers easy to color and makes a great central image.

For the card front, I die cut Sue Wilson Designs’ Spanish Collection Background from white cardstock and layered this on a slightly larger piece of sticker paper.

I added Cloud Nine Velvet Glitter to the remaining exposed adhesive, tied a sheer bow around the bottom, and added a pearl brad to the bow and tiny pearls all around the edge.  This was layered on a white card base.

One of my favorite looks is white embossing on vellum and I knew this image would look be perfect for this.  I stamped it with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with White Detail Embossing Powder on a piece of vellum and colored with Tombow markers on the back.  After die cutting two of Spellbinders’ largest Floral Ovals, I cut the center out of one of them and layered it over the vellum image.  I cut around the pour spout so it would layer in front of the die cut.  Next I trimmed off the decorative edge of the second die, covered it with a wide piece of lace, and adhered a second lace around the edges.  The image was adhered on top of this so the lace could show through the vellum and also under the decorative edge of the die cut to enhance it.

Check out this stamp set in the on line store here.

Thanks for visiting.

E. Marie
