Welcome to Sparkle N Sprinkle's March 1 Reveal.

This month we are featuring five versatile stamp sets.  February was a mix of winter and spring and so is our reveal.  Two sets are filled with the joy and freshness of Spring, while two other sets are perfect for Christmas.

So many of us plan to start our Christmas cards early and work on them throughout the year (yes, that is always my plan).  Why not get started with this month's technique kit using the pretty Red Cardinal drawn by Rosiland Solomon.  This Winter Cardinal set can also be purchased separately and is also included in Jazzy Jill's Technique Video for the month.

I love the newness of spring and all the lovely flowers so I could not resist using the Iris Frame set for this reveal.

I stamped the lovely image and heat embossed with White Detail Embossing Powder on light weight vellum.  This gives it such a delicate look.  I colored the flowers on the back, using my Copic markers.  I added some Concord Star Embossing Powder and Sun Dazzle Sparkle N Soft to the flower center with a glue pen.

 I layered the image on white cardstock, that was run through an embossing folder, and popped it up on a 2^nd piece, punched around the edges with a corner/border punch set.  The lovely background paper is Blue Pathways from Sparkle N Sprinkles’ Pocket Full of Papers line.

This set includes three different sentiments which makes it very versatile for different occasions.

Little Black Dress

With all the snow in the South East this last week, we didn’t venture very far from home. Since I didn’t get to go out and party on Valentine’s Day, I headed to my craft room to play with this cute party dress!

I needed a “little black dress” to go with this amazing cardstock that I wanted to use. I stamped and heat embossed the dress image with Black Detail embossing powder twice; once on cream cardstock and again on coordinating black polka dot cardstock. I used the 3” x 2 1/8” inset from Spellbinders’ Opulent Ovals to die cut the cream image and sponged the edges with Antique Linen Distress Ink. Then I fussy cut the “black dress" and layered it on top of the cream image. I used a glue pen to add Black Ice glitter to the large dots on the dress.

I used black cardstock and both the same 3” x 2 1/8” inset and the 3 1/8" x 2 3/8” border dies to create the black frame. I covered it with VersaMark ink and Ebony Spark embossing powder to give it lots of sparkle.  I popped up the frame and the dress image to the center of the decorative card stock, layered on black and cream on a cream card base. The dimensionals I used were two different depths so the cream center is actually popped up a little higher than the frame.

I used a border punch on the same coordinating black cardstock and added this to the right side of the card and trimmed the cardbase around it.

The sentiment is heat embossed with Black Detail EP on cream cardstock and die cut with Spellbinders’ Label Eight. I sponged the edges with ink and popped it up on a black Decorative Labels Eight, also covered with Ebony Spark EP. I placed the sentiment so it would be horizontal even though I angled the die cut on the card front. Two different size black jewels were added as a final touch.

The use of paper piecing with this Dress Up stamp set gives it a lot of versatility. I might need to throw a little party so I can use this same idea for party invites!

Mermaid Kisses

E. Marie here to share a sweet card using SNS’s new Mermaid Kisses set. Not only does this set come with an adorable mermaid image but also includes some shell images that are very versatile. This card features the fan style shell used three different ways.

The first use of this shell image is to create the sparkly background. It was stamped with VersaMark ink repeatedly on designer paper and heat embossed using Sparkle embossing powder. The original design still shows through but with additional texture, design, and sparkle. This background is die cut with a Spellbinders Scalloped Oval in the center and adhered to a slightly larger piece of white cardstock. Then an oval die is used to cut a window from both layers, leaving a small scalloped frame. Brushable glue was added to the inside and outside edges with a sponge dauber and covered with Teal Velveteen Velvet Glitter. The die cut scalloped oval center is adhered to the card base and this layer is popped up over the top with dimensionals.

 

The shell image is used next to create the decorative corners. It was stamped and heat embossed in black and colored with markers and a Dove Blender. These were fussy cut and covered with VersaMark ink and Sparkle Embossing Powder, then added to the two top corners of the card front.

Two more shell images, created the same as the two corners, are used to create a decorative sentiment. The words were heat embossed with Native American Embossing Powder and die cut with an oval die. Teal Velveteen Velvet Glitter is added to the outer edges with Brushable Glue and added to the card front. The shell images are added sideways to each side.

The card is finished by adding the mermaid in the center window, using dimensionals. She was stamped and heat embossed with black embossing powder, colored with markers and a Dove Blender, and fussy cut. Orchid Rose and Teal Velveteen Velvet Glitter is added, using a glue pen.
