Sparkle N Sprinkle September Challenge and Mystery Designer Party

Summer has flown by, school has started, and it is already the beginning of another month.  This means it is time for a new Monthly Challenge at the Sparkle N Sprinkle Creative Challenges Blog.  In addition to introducing the new challenge this month, we have a special treat. But first, we'd like to invite you to the September Challenge which is "Anything Goes" with Glitter, Embossing Powder and/or Flocking. There will be three winners each month, and badges, too!  Please visit the Challenge Blog for all the details.

Today Sparkle N Sprinkle is also releasing their new Owlette Stamp Set.  It is a collection of adorable little owls created by artist Becky Muir.  With this release, we are having a Mystery Designer Party to give someone the chance to win this new set.

On one of the participating Designers’ blogs below, a commenter will be selected to receive the prize.  No one knows who the Mystery Designer is, so you may wish to visit each Sparkle Team Member's blog to leave a comment.  The winner will be announced on September 3 on Facebook, the SNS blog, and on our blogs:

Craft E. Marie Berquist (that’s me!)

and Special Guest Designers:

Here is my fun Back To School card using this set.  I guess this was on my mind, since I just went back to work with a new class of sweet Kindergartners.

I started with a die cut alphabet background that one of my kind friends cut for me on her electronic die cut machine.  I layered it on a piece of yellow cardstock covered with “Tear-ific” Tape, added Dandy Dandelion Embossing Powder to the remaining exposed adhesive, and heat set it.  The sentiment is embossed withWhite Detail EP on a small piece of chalkboard paper.

I added this adorable, dimensional owl next to the “chalkboard”, created with 4 layers, colored with Copics, and sparkled up with a combination of Cloud NineVelvet Glitter, Sparkling Sands Sparkle N Soft, more Dandy Dandelion EP.

Crayons were a must for this card and I decided to create my own.  I started with blending tortillons, cut them in half, and rubbed them with Inka Gold in Steel Blue, Old Gold, Yellow Green, and Lava Red).  Then I wrapped them with 1/8" Double Sided "Tear-ific" Tape at the top and bottom and added some Black Ice Glitter.  Full instructions for this card can be found in the SNS Gallery here.

Before you leave we have one additional surprise for you.  This darling Owlette set is available at 20% off as part of our Labor Day specials.  Just use the code LABOR20 in the
COMMENTS SECTION when checking out in our on-line store to receive this brand new set at 20% off.  This promotion is valid through September 3 (sorry, credit card customers only. Total will be manually adjusted in our office).

Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend!!

E. Marie

  33. Everyone is talking about school starting so your card is so appropriate. I love the ABC red die cut with the sparkling yellow glitter; very eye catching. I was also impressed with all the elements that you included for a kindergarten card, the ABCs, crayons, chalkboard and the glittery green apple. I was especially impressed with the multi-layered owl which makes it it stand out, but the mixer of glitters that you used on it made it truly amazing. Serenity44
