Thanks, Dad!!

Sorry you haven’t heard much from me lately.  The end of the school year is always so busy and there seems to be so much to get done.  School is finally out and though I have a training session tomorrow, I am off for the summer.  That doesn’t mean I will have nothing to do – my summer doesn’t look real relaxing.  Lots of traveling and over 200 wedding invites to get working on.  My daughter just arrived home and we are going to take a few days to visit my other daughter and layout on the beach.

Sparkle N Sprinkle has been releasing quite a few new sets and one of their latest ones is Fishin’ With Dad.  That was one of my favorite things to do with my dad when I lived at home so this was perfect for Father’s Day cards.

I had this little pad of cardstock with some adorable fish cardstock.  I decided to use it for the base of a fairly simple card.  I layered it on green and a white card base.  I used three coordinating cardstocks to create different size banner strips and popped these on top of each other, vertically, on the card front.

I stamped the set of lures on a white banner strip and colored them with alcohol markers.  I layered it on green and popped it horizontally on top of the vertical banner strips.  Then I used Teddy Brown EP to emboss the Thanks, Dad sentiment on the bottom right corner of the card.

I will be back shortly with another Father’s Day card and fun tutorial.
